Chemistry and Climate
The mission of the Chemistry and Climate division is to quantify, understand and predict anthropogenic and natural changes in atmospheric composition and their consequences for climate, air quality and ultraviolet radiation. The main activity is the improvement of models of the life cycles of non-CO2 greenhouse gases, air pollutants, aerosols and their precursors in order to produce accurate short-term air quality forecasts, long-term scenarios for the future and reconstructions of palaeoclimates.
